Thread: Travall cargo barrier

I've looked at Travall because I'm seeking a half barrier to fit my 2009 Defender 110 SW, and they look good, but so far I haven't found exactly the right one to fit my vehicle. If there is an Aussie-made alternative I haven't found it yet, and I don't want to cut a full barrier in half because I think it would lose rigidity.

You could try ringing Autosafe mentioned in post 6. They do half height barriers and may be able to help.

Yes, crazy fast delivery. Ordered on a Tuesday, arrived in Sydney on the Friday.

They are surprisingly lightweight as well.

Super fast installation, and I was most impressed.

Of course this weekend I kept it installed to see what it was like driving around with them and what happens? We suddenly get called upon to use the 3rd row of seats. I didn't try very hard, but could't figure out a way to remove the barrier and store it in the car at the same time as all 7 seats were in use. Anyone got ideas for this (apart from put it on the roof rack)?

Thanks, but when I inquired I was told they were no longer doing a Defender half-height.

In the end I told 2 kids to get in the back by crawling over/around the backrest portion (I could have made it easier by lowering one.

I have one of the barriers also and second all the comments, great to use and makes packing car so easy for long trips. When we have it in we joke with the eldest that if she is naughty she has to sit in the back in the "gaol".

Hi Scott, fantastic set-up! Looking to do the same type of thing. Can I ask what brand your drawers are and an approx. cost?
Also getting the divider and cargo barrier put in.
By modifying the height, I presume you had to cut the divider and re-weld to new height. Was this difficult ? Looks as new!
    Cheers Dadio

Hi Dadio, Drawers are home made, I copied them from Drifta. Cost me about $700 in materials and a lot of hours. There is a lot of work that goes into them I can assure you! >> 4WD DRAWERS >> Drifta Camping & 4WD If you do want to make them yourself there was a thread started (think it might have been Rich) I used these drawings. Just use the search bar at the bottom of the page.

The divider was straight forward, cut to height then used some flat bar instead of the existing base then powder coated.

    Cheers
    Scott.
