I don't think that 255/69R19 tire size is available for any brand tire in Australia. You might find a P255/60 but that is a passenger car type.

I have been looking at the Goodyear Wrangler with Kevlar in 255/60R19 size but only avail in US. I think someone in Melbourne imported a few sets but cannot find out who that was. They look to be a decent all round tire and with maybe enough sidewall height. I have 235/65R19 Verde on my 2014 RRS TDV6, standard size, and yep they are a good highway tire and capable of a bit of poking around. Useless pretty well in mud but most all terrains are.

Load rating looks to be higher than my current 255/55s and the speed rating is also up (somewhat less important, but good to know the D4 will be good up to 240km/hr...)

Same - which is why I remain dubious. Why would Bob Jane know they have xyz tyre, but the manufacturer site makes no mention of it?

The other concern would be, even if i can get these in Perth, am I even less likely to find a set this size if i need them in the middle of nowhere... I'm guessing these cars wouldn't be too pleased at running different sized tyres? (eg, 3x 255/60 and 1x 255/55 because that was all I could find in woop woop)

The most common size will be the 255/55R19 but even then out in our travels they will be rare. For the 235/65 that I have it seems that if you are lucky and in a capital city there may be some available but otherwise find who might have some and then order them in. A really good situation that. According to the various tire size calculators on the web a 235/65R19 and a 255/60R19 are near enough to identical in diameter. A bit taller than a 255/55. The width difference from 235 to 255 is about 19mm. Not that much of a problem to get out of trouble, and in my opinion not that much difference in handling and wear and tear. If anything the narrower tire might be a bit better - more precise steering, maybe a little less chance of a puncture, and a little less carrying capacity.

My 235's are nearing their service life, I think I might get the same again but keep the best carcases and if on a trip to the boonies will take one or two along.

255/60R19 is one of the 31" sizes for the L494, L405 and the new Disco.

I was wondering what size the 19" was for the disco 5. Are you sure it is 255/60. If so then if we wait a few more years then there may be a few more brands in the market place with that size. I think that I'll go and buy an ice-cream

Interesting Re Disco 5 tyre size - hadn't bothered to look it up in honesty, as i had assumed LR would stick with the same tyre size for the same rim.
The launch party photos on the D5 thread section show what I assume are 20" rims, with Pirelli Scorpions, rather than Good Years. Perhaps this is why the Pirellis are starting to appear in this size, but no other brands as yet?

Either way, exciting news - hopefully more tyres to come!
