D4 door switches / vehicle wake up bypass?

Does anyone know how the d4 senses when a door is open? I can't see any plunger type switches in the door frame. Is there a sensor in the door latch?

The car waking up every time a door is opened when camping is driving me insane. Anyone worked out a bypass yet?

Only solution i know of is to leave a door slightly open. Usually do this to the tail gate.

Don't like doing this much when camping though. Prefer to keep the ants outside.

Its the mice that have caused the most havoc with food previously that I get most concerned about.

I have had a look at if there is an appropriate fuse that can be pulled (or switched) to disable the audio amp & screen, but I presume that would mean loss of audio presets as well?

I have been struggling with the same ever since I bought my LR4. when camping for a week, kids opening and closing the doors all the time will kill the battery in just 4-5 days.

I heard there is a "showroom" mode the car can be put into. Hope that some day IIDtool will have that option.

I always left a door open until bed time, that way you can open any door and it wont matter otherwise use the tailgate to gain access to everything where possible as it doesn't activate the startup procedure. I haven't found anything with a GAP tool to disable this.

Looks like without overthinking it (again 😀&#128512 the easiest solution would be to wedge a door slightly open, just enough to trigger the sensor but not enough to encourage wildlife. A rag in the jam to hold it open and a ocy strap loosely onto the roofrack to stop it opening too far.....

A solution found whilst sitting in a caravan park! 😂😂

Chris, the way I handle this is to disable the interior lights (press centre button in front light for about 5 secs, until it flashes twice) then leave the top tailgate closed but not latched. The car will switch off after a little while and opening doors doesn't bring the computers to life.

Not with mine David. I can have the upper tailgate up and the car will wake if I then open a door.

Agree. Tailgate on mine seems disconnected to the doors. I turn off the interior light also and leave a door ajar.
