Does anyone know what this wire is?

Just noticed it hanging down on the front passenger wheel.

I also have the 'check brake pads' warning on the dash which appeared after travelling on a rough road for a few minutes. It flickers on and off occasionally while driving, and my pads all seem fine.

The brake pad wear sensor appears to be broken, or almost broken and the circuit is opening and then connecting giving intermittent fault.
Temproy fix is too cut wires and join together to make a NC circuit. Need t fit a new wear pad.

If you plug it back in and still get the warning on the dash you'll need a new one. Pretty cheap genuine or even cheaper on eBay.
