    Compomotive wheel stuck!

Hi folks, hope someone can help me out here. Today I've been pulling my Compomotives off to put some nickel anti-seize on the back of them as the risk of galling has been mentioned in other threads and also I think someone even had a couple stuck. (Unfortunately I can't find that thread)

Alas, I'm too late. One of my front wheels is proving particularly difficult to shift. Before I start using bigger implements, any suggestions on how to get this wheel off?

    Thanks,
    David

    Compomotive wheel stuck!

I had to use a sledge hammer and tap from behind. Took a few hits to loosen enough. Now I remove wheels every few months. Driving around with loose wheels nuts seems to be recommend by "experts" on YouTube but I wasn't too keen on that idea.

Thanks Scott. Yeah I saw those loose wheel nut ideas on Youtube. Made me nervous! Did you tap the sledgehammer on the tyre or with a piece of timber (?) on the rim?

Sit on the ground across the front of the vehicle then kick the tyre on its inside, rotating it to kick all around to work it off.

Thanks Scott, Graeme. I got the sledge hammer out but thought I'd give the kicking one more try. It worked. Phew! Thanks gents. David

I forgot that I did the kicking too after a few sledge taps.

Which anti-seize product are people using to prevent this problem, and any recommended suppliers?

Use a nickel based anti-seize. DO NOT use a copper based one which are the most common.
