air compressor guard clean out - need a new nut

    Hi all,

After a couple of suspension faults (normal height only restriction) at intervals you'd really struggle to ask the system why it wasn't happy, I thought maybe the compressor needs a clean out. I don't mean inside the unit, just the guard box. Once I had removed it I found lots of silt and compacted dust so possibly did need doing. I'm hoping that's the trick and not that these faults are early warnings the original compressor is starting to fail, on my 2010 D4(2.7).

Anyway, annoyingly the front bolt came out and in the process seems to have lost the captive nut. I only noticed it was missing when putting it all back together. I can see from the rear one the receiving nut has a clip mount which slips in through a larger square gap just near the bolt hole.

Does anyone know where to source these from and possibly the type I need for the compressor guard. At the moment i'm using trusty cable tie, but a well aimed stone would cut that in no time.

    cheers

I would just go to a dealer. It won't cost much and should be a one-off anyway.
