There wasn't enough slack in the D4 airlines to avoid having to get underneath to remove one of the connectors, although I don't recall having to drop the spare wheel. Removing the strut wasn't considered.
Hi AGain
I have viewed videos on this topic and it seems a bit involved. The best method I saw was going through the spare wheel window once said wheel is removed.
Seeing I can see the block on the front surface of the chassis just behind the strut and seeing that it seems to be mounted the same way as the front block why cant i just pull it up and off its mount and work on it from the wheel well?
That may involve removing the strut but it might have enough slack in the air supply tubes for it to be done this way.
Am I having myself on?
Nick

I saw a you tube vid where the chap gets in under the void above the spare wheel. I will look at it when i go do it. I updated my firmware today for the iid and plan on changing out rear valve block and rl height sensor. I have a sneaking suspicion that the loom is damaged on the sensor plug cause this issue is intermittent so I bought a harness repair kit whilst i was at it. It may be indeed overkill but id rather parts at hand than pulling it all apart a second time
I hope you are well graeme
Nick.
