    Intake manifold cleaner injection port

Where is best place to squirt diesel inlet manifold cleaner into on 3.0SDV6? Car does too many "easy" miles and is sooting up I want to start regime of inlet manifold/upper cylinder cleaner - same as we do for the Subaru

As long as that regime is followed immediately
By an Oil Change Intake manifold cleaner injection port

Keep in mind it is still depositing the Carbon Grinding Paste directly into the Cylinders... never a good thing regardless of what they say..

    Better to organise EGR closure.

How? I haven't seen anything conclusive on these motors but certainly would like to.

It's definitely a concern of mine. The sludge built up in the intake is horrendous however having that sludge hit my cylinders in one go via some form of cleaner does not seem like a smart move. The thought of that built up oil and carbon hitting the cylinders and rings is not appealing and likely have a negative affect on wear. If you take a look at the EGR thread you'll see the EGR photos I posted. Think about that hitting your cylinders. It might be ok, but I'm not sure I'd risk it.

On the Subaru this cleaner is used every service as per OEM. I doubt that using a cleaner first time will clean most or do damage. Of course it's oil change straight after. But, in time, over every service, reckon it will help. Re it going into engine the choices are pull it all apart to clean or give this a go. Again how do you blank off EGRs on the 3.0 SDV 6?

I just don't think that going through your engine is a great idea.
My engine hasn't had the second turbo oil feed update which probably explains the oiliness of the carbon build up as I believe more oil ends up in the intake without it

You need to get the ECU remapped to close EGRs...

Not necessarily ask for more power - you can go EGR close only..
