						SubscriberHi folks.
I am wondering if anyone has had any claims experience using the Eric 5 star warranty insurance - aka extended warranty. I am considering taking the plunge to this as $2000 for 2 years versus $5000 for 2 years with the LR (Allianz) product is a tad different. I fully understand that the LR product is likely to provide much better backup, BUT, is the Eric product that much worse. I guess I am looking for mechanical disaster backup.
I will post this in the RR section as well. Any comments would be appreciated.
Cheers, Simmo

Sorry haven't heard of that one before, I went with the LR genuine 2 years option, glad I did as it's been pretty seemless when going back to my local dealer. it's just like factory new car warranty. There is some exclusions, mainly trim I'm led to believe, but otherwise everything is covered.
so far I have had a air con compressor replaced and last week a rear door lock approx $3500 worth of claims plus some smaller electrical issues.
from my experience it's been money well spent, with 7 months still to go before it runs out, I'm very happy with the peace of mind it's given me.
does anyone do a extended warranty from 5 years on ?
If I was to keep the D4 it would make me sleep a whole lot better at night,
im up to 4 1/2 years & 134,000km.

I took this insurance with my 2013 D4 under a novated lease. Just had the lower control arms replaced by them. Car has done 65k. I'm happy.

I had the Allianz warranty via MLR. When the lower control arms went, the warranty people said it was a service item and didnt want to cover it. When I pushed back and asked about the expected life and service interval, LRA came to the party and fixed it, NOT the warranty claim. Car had under 80K on it and was always serviced at MLR.
It did take a fair (but polite) dummy spit to get some action......
