Thread: Aux input on 08 D3 factory head unit

    Note you really need to install a mini inline amp (or similar) as without this the volume is underwhelming. I was lucky to have something laying around from a previous unfinished project (and I can’t remember what it was called sorry).

    I read on the Disco3 forum that if you connect the ground wire from the new socket lead to both ground wires at back of stereo that it fixes this low volume issue, will try it this weekend and see if it works.

    I have the OEM Aux input at the back of the center armrest and have found the same. The unit sending the signal to the Aux (eg iphone, ipod etc) needs to be turned right up. If the unit is a quality unit there is no distortion and the volume coming out the radio is fine - so turn up the ipod or iphone to max and all should be good at the radio end.
