Not sure if it helps, but i can monitor EGT's on my SDV6 using the BT IIDTool.
I have heard that the D4 3.0l TDV6 has a sensor to monitor EGT and the ECU will adjust within the tune to keep below its threshold levels? Can anyone confirm this? Can the EGT readings be monitored remotely via a Nanocom or similar reader?
If not, has anyone mounted a EGT sensor and gauge on a TVD6?
I would like to get some baseline EGT readings before I potentially go down the EGR blank and mild retune route....

SupporterTowing my 2.3t caravan my EGT is around 475. Much less with car alone unless working hard on a steep hill. All monitored on GAP IID.
Try to check it when towing because everything runs much hotter and that is when you don't want your EGT to go any higher due to a higher state of tune I think.

Oil temperature is gear box oil

Just trying to get my head around EGT's,,
before turbo is better,, right?
so if the ECU takes this into account what does Dalil's 380 mean?
[apart from its not as scarey as Grentarc's number]
the ECU takes this number and adds X amount?
and neither of these are anything like D2/Isuzu numbers,,

Measuring EGT before the turbo gives a better representation of EGT in the cylinders. From memory there can be 150+ degrees temp drop through the turbo. This makes it impossible to compare EGT readings between vehicles with sensors in different locations (ie pre & post turbo).
With a D2 the usual position to mount the sensor was pre turbo, so the actual EGT numbers will be higher than a D4 which has its sensor post turbo.
I was more interested in the huge difference in EGT between banks 1 & 2 (130 vs 595 deg)???
