    Tow hitch lock

I didnt get a key for the hitch lock from previous owner which made it a PITA to remove the spare to have a tyre fitted,is this a generic key or coded to the vehicle ?
I assume its a stealer only purchase ?

Does it have a number on it? Maybe someone who has the same number could get one cut for you.

Just checked and looks like 1D19, looking from behind i can see the hitch lock tongue retract when i turn the green handle but cant tell how it comes out - straight down ?
Thought i would look in the hitch storage are but all i found was a carry bag and 4 spare keys for the roof racks.

Yes it comes straight down. Just pull the green handle out then turn it down and the thing will drop out especially if you still have the tow hitch attached. Watch your toes.

Handle turns maybe 90 degrees so still locked i think, might have to call the dealer for a key.

I ordered a couple of new keys from replacementkeys.co.uk , $15 for 2 keys delivered isnt bad. In the mean time i punched out the roll pin to remove the green handle and drop out the hitch, also didnt get a key for the locked hitch pin so out came the angle grinder and refitted with a standard pin and R clip.

Good luck with the keys. I ordered from them and the keys didn't work.

Got the keys and they fit perfectly, before i ordered them i thought that the code was 1019 but a closer look and online search suggested the zero was a D so nearly got the wrong ones.
