another bloody EPB problem! brakes frozen on and need to get towed!

The dealer I bought my D4 from threw in a free get acquainted with your new LR day run by a LR tour operator at a place down near Mittagong NSW. He told the group about using the EPB as an emergency stop. Said he told everyone about it and that a couple who had attended a previous course had occasion to use it on an expressway. The man had lost consciousness (can't remember why but it was medical) and his wife pulled the EPB and brought the car to a safe stop from the passenger's seat. Certainly handy to know about it and I have told my wife and son in case I have a problem whilst driving.

Sounds like nightmare to me.

In case it is of any use, bebow is a recent (and ongoing EPB experience) albeit mostly detailed in another post. We were stuck on a steep track with an EPB failure. Luckily the IIDTool came to the rescue in that I was able to clear the fault and switch off the EPB, before the fault came back. I suspect there is a later version of the IIDTool program that provides the "Unjam" function. Whilst the problem seems to be mostly contained to low range, it has now happened a few times in high range. I noticed that the plugs for the hole to flushout the drums was missing when I took off the wheels, no idea how long that has been the case, but I now have replacement plugs. It looks like a trip to the service place coming up as I am not confident in my ability enough to touch the brakes.
