Limited Response to Group Buy
A total of five members have placed orders for ProSpeed Racks and accessories and there's a sixth order pending. This is after an initial 17 expressions of interest.
As we can no longer justify a full container I have spent the past few weeks trying to reduce shipping costs. As you'd expect there's not much wriggle room and the costs of shipping 5 racks is over 50% of the cost of 20!
The net effect is that those who have placed orders are considering whether or not to absorb the additional $300 or so in shipping costs or cancel their order.
All is not lost and I'm still tracking down a shipping deal.
So there's still time to get in on the ProSpeed Group Buy if you're interested. Remember, ProSpeed is offering us 20% off their racks and if we get few more on board, total shipping costs could be as low as $546 per rack.

Just to round this thread off. The original aim in post #1 was to land ProSpeed gear in Australia for as near as dammit to the UK Retail price. I currently have six orders, so this means that a rack with two rows of floors and a spare wheel carrier that is priced ex factory (direct pick up - no shipping) in the UK at £1,136 (around A$2,050) can be available to AULRO members for around $2.3k to $2.4k fully shipped to Melbourne. If you allow for internal UK shipping, the gap is even less.
If we had enough orders for a container, the savings would be even greater, but nevertheless, this AULRO buy is still a great deal.
