Thread: 5-seater Discovery 4

Hello, am looking at getting a new discovery 4, and have found one which is a factory 5 seater.

To date, I've only been in a factory 7-seater.

Has as anyone got any advice regarding the difference b/w the two?

I believe the 5-seater second row seats don't go flat (they are a bit higher) and are a 60/40 split. I've enquired and its possible to get the rear 2 seats installed aftermarket, but hear that access to the rear 2 seats can be harder because the way the second row fold.

If if I'm keen on a 7-seater, is it worth looking at modifying the 5?

Have you actually seen the vehicle or are you reading the description on Carsales? I have noticed several Carsales ads where the 'spec listing' says 5 seats, but the photos show it's actually a 7 seater.

I wouldn't bother trying to mod a 5 seater into a 7 seater, just buy a factory 7 seater.

Thanks. I haven't seen the vehicle but have spoken to the owner. It's one of the few that weren't optioned to seven seats. I've heard that a few came this way and that the rear seats sit higher when folded so that the back isnt completely flat.
