Well I did some surfing last night, for a few hours, and found a few cars that ticked a few of the boxes, but not all.
It seems that all 8-speeds are the lower spec engines, and all 6-speeds are the higher spec engines.
While I found a few cars that had low km's, say under 120,00km, and had 8-speed boxes, only one or two had the infotainment system and none had the beige or creme interior or the exterior colour I like. If I found one (yes, I literally found one!!) with the creme or beige interior, it was either too high km's, or it was a 6-speed or both and it didn't have the infotainment/GPS... it seems that the light coloured interior accounted for around 5% of new car sales in the Disco!! Most were ordered with the dark grey or black interior! Add to that a preference for either the Nara Bronze, Ipanema Sand or Fuji White and its virtually impossible.
So either I buy one with the dark interior, low km's, 6-speed and high spec engine, or continue searching ad nauseum until I find what I am looking for - which I think is trying to find rocking horse kaka!! The other alternative is to buy a RRS with low km's (found a MY10 with under 70k km's, and many with under 90k km's) with the creme/almond/beige interior and all the fruit but with a 6-speed gearbox and the higher spec engine - for the same or less money!
Right now I'm leaning towards the RRS! They just seem to offer better value in that it ticks all the boxes (higher spec engine, infotainment/GPS, reverse camera, sunroof, H/K sound system etc etc) except one - 8-speed gearbox! Sorry guys I so want a D4 but goddamn its almost impossible trying to find the right car!
Decisions, decisions!!

SubscriberInteresting - I had the opposite problem, where seemingly every car had the creme interior, where my (our) preference was the black...
I'd suggest waiting a little bit longer for the right beast to come up for sale before giving up on the mighty D4. :-)

All the 8 speeds you can find are low output? Wow!
8 speed TDV6 3.0 are “low”
8 speed SDV6 3.0 are “high”
Any spec SE or above will have the SDV6 standard.

There are too many Discos being advertised as 8 speed when they have only the 6 speed tranny. The interior photo is the key: if it has the pistol shifter, it's a 6 and the seller is mistaken or lying. (Or I am!)

Sorry Tombie you are correct in what you are saying - I told you I needed some schoolin'!!
Did some more searching on CarSales and they all seem well out of my budget!
I guess I will keep looking!

I had one dealer tell me that I was wrong, it was a stick shift 8-speed, and that everyone on the forum was wrong too!! This went on to the point of anger and that we (well you guys, not me, I am uneducated here) were wrong and full of poo!!
Go figure!
