I was similar to you and considered the front runner as I need as low a profile as possible for parking at work. I went with this as I prefer the look and struggled with roughly $200 extra cost.
It is very easy to assemble and I can not notice any noise in city traffic doing 60. Getting to 70 you get a slight noise but I imagine I won't notice it in a few weeks time. I am heading down south this weekend which will be the ultimate test as I will be focussing on noise and fuel economy at highway speeds. If you like I can give you my thoughts next week.
One thing I have noticed is the 1426 platform is slightly bigger than the roof as Disco tapers in as it gets to the top. The rack is still in line with the doors etc (hope that this makes sense but I will try and get some photos). I don't mind it as it gives more room and I think it makes it easier to access. Just something to consider before your purchase.
