The Dodge brothers (and not extension, Dodge motors) have historically been known for products producing great amounts of power for tragically brief serviceable lives. When they started offering a low torque diesel option via the Cummings Powerplant, the rams began to gain some respect for longevity and serviceability, but as someone whose grandfathers, father, uncle and cousins all worked for Detroit companies I would never buy a new Dodge for the expectations noted.
