    Brake Fade

So driving my D3 TDV6 today came up to a roundabout the brake pedal went to the floor and it seemed that the brakes lifted off, I costed to a stop part way across the lines. I had been driving all day and this happened

Brake booster/Vacuum servo is gurgling, no fluid lost

    Any idea?????

My thoughts are servo/ master needs replacing (seems to have vacuum in pipe to it )

    thanks

Yes, sounds like the master cylinder has failed, but not brake fade.

agree master cyl probably but pedal shouldn't have gone all the way to the floor , if you can hear gurgling, make sure your car has had recall , if not your booster will be full of oil.

Sounds like the brake booster has oil in it, even if it has the recall pipes on it, the one-way/check valves can fail and allow oil into the booster it will have to be replaced as the engine oil will eat the booster diaphragm rubber (part costs approx $500 IIRC). If the oil has got high enough it will have contaminated the master cyl rubbers also necessitating replacing. To check the level, the vac pipe can be pulled out of the booster and a cable tie dipped in to check the height, your mech can suck out the oil to stop it contaminating the rubber until the booster can be ordered/replaced.
