B-pillar external black door trim removal...?

During a recent High Country adventure, I narrowly avoided a head-on with a heavily loaded, speeding Land Cruiser skidding straight at me with all wheels locked. The only option I had was to swerve off the track into the bushes. He then happily passed me and kept going...!

To my surprise, the only real damage my D4 sustained was from a large stick that scraped across the top of the front passenger door window, and embedded itself into the top corner of the B-pillar, bending the top of the black external door pillar trim.

I've sourced a replacement "LR016337 - B-post finisher" in the hope it was a quick and easy swap, but I have no idea how remove / replace it. Any tips are welcome, otherwise I might look for a local LR workshop to quote to fit it.

Let me preface this by saying it's not very helpful - sorry.

This is very odd. In the 2013-14 WSM there is no reference to this at all that I can see.

In the 2010-12 WSM there is this entry in the index:

    WSM Index.JPG

Go to that section and this is it:

    Very weird.

I've got my D4 booked in for a service on Thursday. If I remember, I'll ask how it's done.

    Thanks guys.

It appears to be held on with a narrow strip of double sided tape (on the back of the new part), and the bottom edge is held in behind the strip that runs along the top of the door. I've seen a screw inside the door that lines up with this strip that I assume holds it in place. I'll have a closer look on the weekend and see if I can get it apart without damaging anything...

Please keep us updated. It would good to know how these are removed and refitted because mine are a bit sad from tight tracks.

OOPs deleted - listed stuff for A pillar not B pillar

A delete post like many other forums would be helpful. Also a delete attachment function would be good too.

The workshop manual does not have a section on removing the outer B pillar trim - has the inside trim but not the outside. That is because there is no outer B pillar trim - the bit you damaged is the front door rear trim (suppliers do call it B pillar but it is not). However the manual does not seem to cover it either .
