    D3 4.0L Petrol Fan Clutch

    Hey Guys,

Looking at replacing the viscous fan clutch in my D3 4.0L Petrol, and was hoping for some help.
I know the LR part number is LR025966, but are they any known aftermarket alternatives that are cheaper?

Looking at the Davies Craig website for example, it lists 2809 for the Discovery V8 4.0L, which doesn't exist.
Maybe its a typo, anyone used it on the V6? But I found one for sale for ~$80 = much cheaper!

    Any other alternatives?

4.0L V8 is the Discovery 2 engine, so no good for you, try Lucky 8 or Paddocks, britparts and so on.
    Cheers Baz.

If you are intending to keep the vehicle, and want it to be reliable,i would be getting a good quality part.

    Engines are not cheap.

Can. Of. Worms. So, some feel Britcar branded is inferior quality, however Britcar are also suppliers of OEM components. It might be hit or miss with them. You’ll probably be fine TBH but I guess the question is, if it only gets you a couple of years, will you be annoyed? If so, buy genuine

How easy is it to remove the original fan?
Is it a 30 minute job with a couple of spanners or 2 days with a kit of special service tools!!??
