    My new D3 is great. Except for the engine.

    What I love about my 2006 D3 HSE of which I have driven less than 7,000km in;
    The mirrors tilting down when I select reverse.
    The rear (kids) AC.
    AIR SUSPENSION!!!!!!
    Position on the road.
    Effortless power for a big rig.
    Good size individual seats.
    Room in the third row for two kids and a fridge.
    Great fuel economy.
    3.5T tow capacity.
    The Land Rover wave
    All the airbags.
    The storage areas everywhere.
    Dual AC.
    Easy to drive.

    What I don't like about it;
    I was driving along the Cunningham Hwy the other night overtaking a truck powering up a hill, and I got a vibration. I thought it was a flat tyre it shock the car so violently. Anyway, pulled over, and pretty sure my TDV6 is now a TDV5. Bad sounds, and a knocking coming from the rear cylinder on passenger side.

    I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and your festive season is far more pleasant and much less expensive the mine!

    Darn. Hope it isn't as bad as you think.

    Thanks Johntins, but with not a single registered alarm/fault/idiot light in the car, I expect mechanical failure

    Feeling for you. Hoping it isn't the dreaded crank failure. Many threads here on that.....

    I have to research this. I know the territory engine fits a Euro4 D3.
    I have a 2005 build, 2006 plated model, so I (think I) have a Euro3, and I have to find out if a territory engine will fit a Euro3 D3.

    I'm reasonably sure it has been discussed on here before. Use the search function, bottom left hand of the page. The Territory option would seem to be the cheapest way out, provided it fits your car.

    Hope it works out for you.

    This is one I have locked away in my own D3 info sheet. Can't find the reference to the 05-06 TDV6 though. I'll keep looking. What I am looking for, and I am yet to find is the difference in the block/crank/turbo/manifolds/cooling system between 05/06 and 07+ engines which make the engines non-compatible.
