Electronic rear dif fault DTC P186D

I have, after 165000km had the fault code P186D-00 come up which cascades into gearbox, ABS fault and suspension faults.
the TB LTB00228/ Issue 2 calls up a new differential motor part LR011036 or TVK500350. I have googled these numbers and they are not available anywhere. I was wondering if anybody has refurbished these units and how successful it was.
The TB also quotes the updated software 9W83-4C045-A(D) for MY2010 onwards which mine (2012) has.
This fault comes up after stopping for fuel during a trip. I clear it and the cascade with my IID Tool and for the rest of the drive does not rear its ugly head again.
    Any thoughts??
    Cheers
    Graeme

    P186D-00 Clutch Actuator Stuck
    No sub type information
    Actuator fault
    Using the manufacturers approved diagnostic
system, calibrate the Rear Differential Control
Module/clutch actuator. If the problem persists,
    renew the actuator
If the recalibration doesn't work you'll likely need a new actuator.

Try this part number : LR032711

If you were going to get a new one I would contact one of the UK suppliers with the details of your vehicle so they can make sure you get the right part.

Apparently there is a core exchange on these too. LRdirect was showing a reburbed one ~$400 and new ~$800

PS Graeme (of llams) would be the man to give advice here as he retrofitted an ediff to his L322 so is well in the know on this subject.
    Cheers,

    Sean

If your IIDtool doesn't have the option to calibrate the rear diff then contact Gap Diagnostics to obtain a version that does, although I suspect that the option would have been included in a general release version by now.

Thank you, I will check for an update and if it is not there I will get onto GAP as I am planning a trip to Melbourne and Tassie mid February. It will be good to have it sorted by then.

Spent a few hours yesterday under the bonnet where I undid, cleaned, and reconnected every major plug, including the transfer case ECU. Went for a couple of runs and now all is well.
Among the fault cascade was some which were associated with high resistance in the plugs. The pins were clean with no corrosion.
i recalibrated the transfer case and position sensors and all has done the job as no warnings on a run today.

I've got that fault plus a couple of others, took it around to my indie and he cleaned up the connectors on the TC ECU, a lot of corrosion. Fault still present.

He had a couple of "spare" TC ECU and there were swapped through with same fault. Leaning towards the rear diff actuator but could be harness related somewhere.

He is doing some digging on the issue will be in touch when he has more info.

a lot of these will be cascading faults.
