Aux battery connection with Traxide SC-80.

Of course i can't find the info now but i'm sure i read that there is a procedure for connecting the aux. battery once the wiring is complete.
I have the isolator mounted and all the wiring including rear cargo bay sockets are mounted and wired in , all thats left is to connect the SC80 to the main battery and connect the cables to the aux. battery.

    Hi,
I put mine in years ago and don't remember any procedure.
As my second battery is in a slide on camper, it gets connected/disconnected with the camper at all sorts of random voltages on the camper/vehicle batteries.
    Cheers

Edit: connection is via Anderson plugs.

Hi Loan, until you start your motor, which gets the alternator running and the voltage rises avowed the SC80 cut-in voltage ( 13.2v ) the SC80 will remain off while you connect your cabling.

Best way is to connect your auxiliary battery positive ( + ) first, then connect to your cranking battery positive ( + ) next.

For safety, always connect the auxiliary battery’s negative ( - ) to earth cable last.

Then test everything by starting your motor.

An another note , because the aux battery lid doesnt quite fit and under bonnet heat could be an issue i'm going to try using my heat gun and see if i can stretch the lid enough to make it fit.

Heating didnt work as the plastic just went tacky, did a trim and will make a new top for it.
