    Who lives remote with a D3 / D4 ?

    Gday All,

Wondering how many people actually live remote - 300ks or more ( or there abouts ) away from the nearest Landy mechanic. Can be either indy or dealer .

    - How have you found things in general as I assume not much would be kept in small towns , even the correct oils.

-Do you keep a range of spares , or just the basics such as filters. ?
    - I wont ask how many times you asked asked why you have a Land Rover

    Cheers Ean

The only work that I had done on my D4 after warranty was to have the gearbox overhauled. My local car/truck/farm machinery mechanic removed the gbox using pages copied from my WSM then refitted it once rebuilt.

Yep. Been doing it for coming up on 15 years now...

Have Oils, Filters, Belts, Sump plug washers, and a couple of other little bits.

    Most important things: Diagnostic tools!

And I have never questioned owning a Landy...

I’m the town LR guy (for newer ones anyway). Mark is the Rivet counter/101 guy.

I have a regular collection of D1/2/3/4/RRS pull up for advice.

I also do the Tight Tolerance setting for people looking to get a wheel alignment.

I’m in the Pilbara, so defiantly qualify for remote. I keep a stock of most basic consumable parts and oils. Any majorish repairs I try to order parts in before I start work and try to have everything ready to go before pulling things apart. I don’t think I could rely on most of the mechanics here for much - unless it’s a Toyota most don’t seem to have much of a clue
