Where to poke an anderson lead into the cabin?

i'm looking at fitting an anderson plug inside the cab of my D3 mounted somewhere near the passengers footwell. I will use this to power my ark pak in the boot via an extension cable. It's just hard to know where it will go through the firewall, if anyone has done something similar before it would be a good starting point for me. thanks

You have 2 entry points... both drivers side.

Open the bonnet, lift the plastic cover over the brake booster.

There is 1 grommet down to the centre line of the vehicle, the other right down in the corner near the guard.

The guard side can be felt just above the accelerator pedal behind the carpet, the other needs a skewer pushes through from outside and the the sound deadener cut inside to gain access.

Look to run just the positive lead in and use the earth points in the footwell behind the side kick panel for your earth return.

    Good luck!

Use the grommet near the booster as its a blank then run cable up high over the pedals and down behind the kick panel and then lift the sill covers and there is a perfect size channel to tuck some cable into.
This channel runs right thru to the middle seat area where you can then tuck it up behind the plastic trim to either the little blanking plate near the rear seat cup holder or down to the access panel where the jack lives.

A related question. I have a D4 and I have completely filled the entry point near the brake booster (ran a very heavy cable down to the read to an Anderson plug and fridge power). I thought the only other point was behind the battery which is pretty hard to get to. Does the D4 also have second entry point under the brake cover near the guard?

I think that is the main loom entry to the cabin , I tried poking another cable in there but gave up and used the other access point.

Would you see any problem with fitting twin core 6b&s through this grommet mate?

Hi hpal and yes, there is easily enough room the run twin 6B&S cable through the grommet and run it to the rear as loanrangie posted.

But how are you connecting to the ArkPak.

Don’t waste your time using the DC/DC input because if your battery is flat, you will need to drive for about 20 hours straight, to charge a flat 100Ah battery.

The ark pak has an Anderson plug in the side of it, I was planning on plugging the Anderson lead straight into this which I guess will charge straight off the alternator while driving for the fastest charge? I think I've got it right?

    I've bought a camper trailer!

So, I've got the anderson lead into the cabin and running to the rear and it's coiled up in the jack compartment on the rh side just nicely. I can run it out to charge the ark pak or run the air compressor off it for pumping up tyres.

    Enter rear fold camper trailer!
It has an anderson plug for charging the on-board battery and I want to connect up to it. I was thinking of making a short anderson lead from down at the bumper going up into the cab and when using the camper just plug my supply anderson lead into the one which goes to the bumper.

So, How do I get a lead from outside to inside the cabin at the rear of the car? Maybe in the tail light area I could poke something through? Thanks!
