Haha - we’ll picked up. Unfortunately I wrote the jan 15 D4 off. As it was less than a year old (just) I got a brand new one. It’s a long story but if it weren’t for the incredibly strong A pillars and the safety of the car my wife and I wouldn’t be here telling the story.
    Cheers

Wow, I wasn’t expecting that. Sounds frightening. Glad you’re here to tell the tale. If you feel like telling the tale I’m sure we’d all be interested... If not, totally understand

Yep it seems to usually be female voices. Similarly thinking some discreet glue / siliconing might work.

Glad I'm not the only one, I got the feeling the Stealership thought I was nuts! I can actually just slightly push the corner of the grill in with my thumb, this will be where I silicone.

I also got the 'it's a feature of the car' spiel, at which point I said it's not a great feature and felt like they were telling me to buy a G Wagen for my next car.

    Apologies for the thread hijack.

Could the issue be the tweeter above the door card? It is connected into the top of the door card so maybe when you put your thumb on the speaker grille it is enough to stop it resonating. It could explain why you hear it when you're on the phone, I would think with voice coming through the speakers more of the sound is going through the tweeter compared to with music.

Could be - I hadn't thought of that. I might try and put my hand on the tweeter next time and see if it also stops the problem. Thanks for the suggestion.

Alternatively try putting a rag between the seat belt connector and seat leather, let us know if your sounds go away after that?
Exact same issue, on the passenger side. With variable sizes of occupants made it difficult to locate for a while. Fixed with the toe end cut out from an old infant's sock.
