I'm okay with possible impact except when? Especially with the spare? Not in my time with the vehicle and I reckon the previous owner is unlikely to have taken it that much really off road.
The enamel hasn't broken off and the crack has revealed itself much later than the possible time of impact. And surely there would have been more experiences of them out there being reported if it was just impact wear and tear.
I understand them being out of warranty.
Again it still worries me for the next trip.

Wouldn’t have to have happened off road.

Good chance it was a large ish pot hole on the black top,not even at high speed.

Easy to do,I have seen OEM D4 rims destroyed this way.

Actually I think it was someone on here that destroyed a couple of OEM rims,accidentally,that way

I bought two new rims direct from Compomotive after finding that my original rims (PD1880) were superseded in 2013 by a higher pressure alloy (PD1881) with an increased gap to allow larger rocks to pass between rim and caliper.
Fair enough, I was back to 6 rims again.

Then SWMBO wanted me to assure her we wouldn't have any more cracks in the other two older rims I was going to leave on the car. Ergo. Another two had to be ordered to avoid the potential "I told you so." https://www.aulro.com/afvb/images/icons/icon6.png So now we have 4 rims as spares to use if we have to use a spare. https://www.aulro.com/afvb/images/icons/icon11.png

Brilliant service from the UK. 4 days and one hour from payment to delivery at my house.

Back to the trip planning once we have the KO2 tyres swapped over.

That's very interesting .... a former forum member had the whole 'Compomotive wheels for Discovery's' stitched up because he had something like Intellectual Property rights on the design. He was the only guy in Aus you could buy the wheels from.

Obviously something has changed.

can I be rude and ask what the cost was delivered to your door?

I have set of 5 compomotive rims, and one recently developed a crack on the inner bead causing the usual overnight tyre deflation. This left me without a spare while it was repaired ($180). I ordered another from the distributor in Perth ( I believe he actually designed the wheels, so not surprising he had the intellectual property rights). As we usually carry a spare tyre carcass on remote trips, we will now have this on a rim and thus 2 x spares.

I was wondering what it cost you to land these in Oz. The price in Perth is $585 delivered to your door.

And now I'm in need of a spare compomotive after buckling one pretty severely. Didnt hit a very large hole, but enough to turn my round wheel not round and striking the caliper on each rotation.

I thought they were off road rims??? the GOE website says;
"These are rugged rally-spec rims, ideal for touring and rough road travel"

Yeah dont seem so rugged after all these failures, wont be on my shopping list.
