A good solution when you get the old nuts off is to replace them with solid wheel nuts. I got my set from the USA on Ebay.

Thanks I have to replace 10nuts so I’m looking at replacing all of them. Would you by any chance have a link to the ones you got? I found these:

I'm no expert but I don't think those will work - shank(?) should be longer.

I bought these: 20 Chrome 14x1.5 Lug Nuts for Land Rover Factory Aluminum Wheels - Mag Seat | eBay but they seem to be not available currently.

These are similar: Set of 20 Chrome Wheel Lug Nuts M14x1.5mm for Land Rover LR3 LR4 Range Rover | eBay

Previous links are not correct and not the solid wheel nuts in David's second link.

The ones I have are from this supplier:

Likewise the ones I got don't seem to be on Ebay anymore but here is the seller I got them from (looks to be the same place in one of the links above)

    dpaccessories | eBay

    plenty of choices in here.

I only paid $46 for "20 Chrome 14x1.5 Lug Nuts for Land Rover Factory Aluminum Wheels - Mag Seat" which I think is also linked above but I don't see them on Ebay now. Might pay to shop around to see who else has them at the right price.

    Wheel brace or spanner !

Once upon a time the only wrenches were 'tension wrenches (not torque wrench, another Americanism) and monkey wrenches, everything else were spanners, either ring, open ender, tube, etc

Next thing people will be taking about 'box wrenches' (ring spanners) and 'flat wrenches' (open enders)

    /rant

I feel like King Canute but I have to try......
