If it's the same as the D3 it's shows the direction your wheels are pointing.
Hi all.
Managed to get out for my first low range drive today and noticed a symbol on the instrument panel that shows the front wheels between the speedo and tacho when driving some nasty hills. I can't find it in the manual or using the interwebs so wondering if anyone knows what it means? And all threads need some photos so here's a couple...

Got to love Macintyre's Hut!
How was the view from the top of Mt Coree?
Regards
Perfectly normal Heath .... I've never bothered recording which setting I have on when that appears but I'm sure it's at pretty low speed. As stated before, you just get a little view of what your wheels are doing. You can get a constant, larger version of that on your main display (where your radio and phone stuff normally appears) but in close to 10 years with 2 D4s, I've never used it once. Maybe if you were doing some serious off-road stuff where you really needed to get those angles right....but I'd prefer somebody outside guiding me anyway.
