17 inch wheels, what options are there?

Having trouble finding some 17s for my 2005 HSE 2.7

Willing to buy new or aftermarket. Prefer alloys but will consider anything.

    What choices are there?

Have 18s on it but have a set of 17 inch tyres to go on

    These 17" BMW rims fit perfectly 1X BMW E53 X5 17"X7.5" SPARE WHEEL & TYRE | eBay

I got 4 for $180. LR Centre caps fit.

You cannot use the LR wheel nuts as there will not be enough threads on the studs a you will need new wheel nuts Gorilla® 14mm x 1.5 Chrome Lug Nuts from Brandsport Auto Parts (#68148)

There are a lot of threads on the BMW wheels so a search may help.

I have 4 twin-spoke 17x7.5 X5 rims (no nuts) looking for a home fitted with only part worn LT245/70 Duratracs. They're not getting any younger so make me an offer if interested. They have caps but LR caps don't fit mine.

LR centre caps from the 18" wheels didn't fit my BMW 17" wheels. I got 5 for 250 last year, though they're becoming harder to find at that sort of price now. You can also get this style, though IMHO they don't look as good

I'd recommend you get 5 rims as you need to change lug nuts, and then you don't have to worry about have 5 odd lugs nuts floating around.

If your looking for new rims, CSA have a range of 17" x 8" alloy rims (choose the small cap range) with a PCD 5x120 and a Max Load rating of 1250kg. These fit VW's Amarok which have the same PCD as the Disco 3/4 so maybe another option is to look for used rims for sale on the various Amarok forums.

I've fitted CSA's Raptor wheel to our MY12 Disco 4 (2.7 TDV6) and I like the looks good. The satin black finish disguises the fabled and all too familiar LR brake dust finish as well

I just got 4 of these from a BMW wrecker in Bris for $200.
    17" x 7.5" X5. E53.
Not the 'look' I was after as I was hoping to snag the dual spoke ones, but alas, these star pattern were all that was available.
    Now to source nuts.

BTW, not being a BMW owner, I didn't realise how modular and interchangeable BMW bits are between models. Like Lego.

    Cheers
    RJ

I've seen them on a D3 where they were painted black, and I reckon they look better, in case that's something you want to change.
