    Compressor change problem

I changed the compressor in my 08 D3 today. It was a AMK for AMK swap. I also changed the reservior valve block.

The new compressor raised the vehicle from bump stops to off-road with no problems but it is not cutting out. It runs whenever the vehicle is running.

Checked for for leaks at all air hoses I had disconnected and re-connected. None found. Checked all electrical connections. The relay was replaced with the one supplied with the compressor.

    No faults. Any ideas?

Next step will be to put the old compressor back in to see if the problem remains.

    Thanks.
    Sean.

Replace the new relay with the original first. It may be faulty.

Try a hard reset and then continue diagnostics.

Got home this afternoon and it seems to be behaving perfectly. Compressor cutting out when it gets to about 1780kpa. Valves and relay working fine.

Yesterday it it was running even when the suspension was lowering.

The only thing I can think of was that after of starting and stopping the D3 while testing the compressor yesterday the starting battery would barely turn the motor over so I had to use the auxiliary battery.

Got a number of faults for lost communication which normally happens when you disconnect the battery.

So maybe the flat battery was like a hard re-set.

Now I have to work out how the upper compressor cover fits back in.

The compressor I removed was a Land Rover branded AMK compressor and the new compressor is a Britpart.
The only difference is the silver threaded cap on the right hand above the brass fitting on the Britpart.
Anyone know what this is for?
