I have used clamp on, strap on and those bloody awful contraptions that you affix to the door, Then I have used clearview mirrors.
Aesthetics aside (I actually think that the clearview's look much better than all the others) the clearview's do the job so much better than all the others I have used and they don't vibrate, rattle or worse simply fall off.
Like I said IF I could get a set of clearview's to fit my D2a I would fit them in a heartbeat, Unfortunately they don't make them for this model landrover so I am stuck with a set of clamp on's.
Yes all the other types of mirrors are much less expensive than a genuine set of clearview mirrors But as for being fit for purpose the clearview's win hands down.

Hi,
I'm not towing, but carry a slide on camper too wide for normal Defender mirrors, so I got the extended arms.
Very usable, but still got the odd surprise from behind.
I recently got a reversing camera/screen from Safety Dave and wired it in so I can have it on/off when I want.
It is brilliant! No more wondering if there is anything tucked in behind.
Cheers
