Yes if one or both EGRs are not serviceable (hence blanking) but if some reason the EGRs are still working OK blanking will not throw codes as the ECU is getting the messages back from the EGRs that it expects.

But a soon as an EGR fails you will get faults immediately.

Pete Bell seems to have a good rep in the UK for doing a decent job. He was one of the first guys to get the DPF delete right (which was what I was really interetested in). The EGR was more of a a "while I'm in there".

Not on later models.. there’s recirculating gas flow etc that need to be factored in.

    Not like early units.

Yeah. MY08, so just blanking wasn't an option and I still had to get the DPF programmed out.

I didn't think DPFs were on cars that early?

There is a reason I named it "The Antichrist". UK import with all sorts of odd-spec fruit. Even the UK spec for that model year didn't have the DPF.

You can block EGRs in D3s up to around ‘07.

On a later tuned engine with the EGR disabled the units are closed - so they are blocked! But still do their cleaning cycle on shut down.

Just throwing blanking plates into a D4 2.7 will throw codes....
    x2 All of the above

    AND...
The intake butterfly doesnt need to be removed, there is no advantage.... OR disadvantage in doing so.
It NEVER fully shuts even with working EGR, the engine could not draw the amount of air it needs through EGR.

    AND...
look at the specs of your Disco, if it says EURO 4, there is no DPF

    'Hypothetical' EGR blanking question.

I was talking online to Peter Bell re my 3.6 tdv8. He couldn’t understand how my emulators work with EGRs unplugged, and butterfly valves still functioning. He said the motor would shut down if butterfly valves still fitted/active. But it doesn’t. Seemed reluctant to sell me a remap unless I plugged in the EGRs again. I didn’t want to do that so I never went ahead with remap.

I agree, the butterflies don’t fully close at least on Oz delivered L322s. Autocode/Gally (emulator seller) told me the same thing.

Occasionally the revs drop when idling for a moment by 150rpm. I presume that is the butterflies partially closing/activating.
    L322 tdv8 poverty pack - wow
