    Stage 1 re-map

Just had a stage 1 re-map done & thought I would share my initial experience so far. The D4 now feels like it should have always run. It is far "crisper" & lighter to drive. The one thing I always disliked was the turbo lag. It now takes off a lot quicker (which I feel makes it safer too). The torque curve is much better & the auto seems to be better/smoother. Sorry if I am being vague but it's kind of hard to explain. A lot more power? I don't know as I haven't booted it...yet I guess I would be your average type driver. Not fast but I wont hold you up. It just feels more usable & comes on a lot more freely than before. These are my initial thoughts & so far I am very happy & enjoy driving the D4 more than before.
I had the work done down at Rova Range Automotive in East Bentleigh. Jason was great to deal with & explained everything along the way. The process was very quick & easy.

After umming and arring about whether it would be worth the money to get an ecu re-map for the D3 I finally bit the bullet and did it last week.

Got a BAS re-map via my IID BT Tool. Was impressed with the service. Placed the order at 6pm was done by 7.30pm.

Basically the same experience as you have. Shorter turbo lag. Really notice the difference when accelerating away from traffic lights or merging onto to the highway.

Quite noticeable with overtaking upto about 80km/h. Less noticeable as you go over 80km/h.

This is to be expected as the tune is targeted at the low to mid rpm range.

Put the boot in at the next set of traffic lights. I think you will be pleasantly surprised. In was.

    Definately worth the money.

    £350.

I might have been lucky but I was contacted 15min after placing the order and was all done in 1.5hrs. It would have been faster but I didn’t expect the response to be so fast so I didn’t check my email for awhile.

In the order you supply your VIN number and GAP Diagnostic user name.

They contact you and you download the custom firmware from the IID Tool Updater onto you IID Tool.

Go to the vehicle plug in your IID Tool and email the ecu info page.

You are then contacted and download the ecu flash files from the Tool Updater.

You receive two flash files. STD+Recovery and Tune.

You load the STD+Recovery flash file first followed by Tune. It take a couple of minutes each.

The first STD+Recovery flash update failed but the second was fine. The Tune flash file loaded first time.

I’m no techno wiz and I found it easy.

Really? I thought for the earlier SDV6's it was still bench the ecu and then flash. Certainly not aware of it able to be done via the GAP tool currently.
