Performance chips

As said - do not get a chip - just modified fuel - get it done properly with an ECU remap (the current ECU program us rewritten to improve performance in all areas and are matched not just one or two in the case of a chip that causes a mismatch in other areas)

A good remap will virtually eliminate all this lag off the mark and greatly improve torque - especially under 2,000rpm. . It's not about the large engine power increase but the driveability at all speeds and driving pleasure of the vehicle.

Is it a 2.7 or a 3.0l?

The remap for the 2.7 does make quite a difference in all areas,but if its a 3.0l,i would leave it stock,as it is pretty good.

No it won’t. It’s not lag... mashing the throttle to the floor is a recipe for whee spin which the vehicle won’t allow in normal mode (throw it in sand mode and see what happens).

Feeding the throttle so the tyres aren’t looking to spin up prevents the TC system dropping power (to prevent such) which resembles lag.

A clean launch will do just that... remapping and increasing torque and then mashing the electronic throttle open will make it initially worse, then come on like a train.

Hi Mike,, sorry I didn't answer earlier, as I wasn't sure exactly how I do do it,, so wanted to drive to see whats what. I tend to do a bit of both it seems, and certainly just dumping the foot does not have the desired response as such. But when it takes, it certainly takes [wink11]

This is how I understand it all to work, and I guess basically what I would like. Having said that, I can work around what I have, so it's not the end of the world if I don't do anything about it.

I’ve got a re mapped 3.0SDV6 yes with 6 speed auto and in RRS but very pleased with it very drivable no lag. We dont hammer the car but it’s certainly smoother and easier turning into traffic etc

I have a stage one remap & love it. The car is a lot nicer to drive & I believe uses less fuel. Very happy.

Really interesting read. When I bought my 3.0 D4 it came with a Racechip pro2 but not installed.
