Discovery 3, SE, 2007, Air suspension fault,

    Hi All,
I am new to this site.
I have disco lr3, 2007, SE. At the moment I have a suspension fault, and special programs off.
I have checked all earth points, they are fine. Replaced brake light switch and battery.
The car is still in fault and sitting on the stops. I checked the air compressor by bridging the relay, and it can be heard running. I finished work and the car was lowered. I have been having this suspension fault for about 2 weeks, I turn the car off wait a few minutes and all is ok. Would go for a,couple of days then it would happen again. I have a code reader but it will not read the disco for some reason. Any thoughts.

Have you done a master reset? Disconnect both terminal from the battery and leave for a few minutes?

If the compressor isn't pumping enough air to get the vehicle to the selected height then it will drop to the bump-stops. Try selecting access height after switching on the ignition and before starting the engine to see if the compressor pumps enough to raise to access height. If it does then immediately switch off the engine, wait for a few minutes then repeat the process but select normal height before starting the engine. Once at normal height I suggest that you switch off the engine then remove the 20A engine bay suspension fuse to prevent lowering and the passenger compartment 5A suspension fuse to prevent recurring 50 kph warning messages until the compressor is fixed or replaced. The dryer may be blocked, the compressor exhaust valve worn out or the compressor piston rings worn-out.
