    Viscous Fan

    I was under the bonnet first thing this morning and noticed that the fan was running fairly fast.

    Is this normal? I thought it would only run when needed.

    It does a self test at times on first start up,and runs fast,then slows down.
    It is a viscous fan with electric override.
