Should I do it myself?

Hi all, back again.

I have still been contemplating giving this a go. The main thing thats holding me back is the "requirement" for special tools to press the new seals in.

They're about $150 each plus shipping. Is it necessary to use these tools? Could I turn them out of hardwood? Or can I just use a drift and light hammer? It's not worth buying them...

Dan , you can find generic seal kits for less that will also work on other components.
I would do it yourself since you already did the LCA bush's.

I will when i get home, just bought a TDV6 timing kit and a 27 pce bush replacement kit so spent a bit of time looking at tools.

Just having a look at those and noticed they're flat, while the tools shown in the workshop manual have raised edges to press on a particular point of the seal. Looking at the workshop manual I dont see why they wouldnt work though, but I'm nervous I'll pull it all apart to find they wont work.

Ive just double checked the suspension bushes (the other place id probably use said tools) and noticed that all of the bushes have a raised centre and the flat discs wont be any good for pushing new bushes in. Any tips or tricks around this? Or another tool set with a raised lip on one side?

I just want to remove as much chance as possible of stuffing it up!

I bought this kit last week, I plan on using meyle solid bushes instead of hydro so these will work.
