Battery failure #2 grrr

These look a good battery. Direct fit and by far the biggest crank for buck.

SS88Ti High Performance AGM Stop Start Battery

For the record my LR exide battery still going strong 4 years down the track. But it’s got to be getting close. It just seems pretty excessive the sort of battery consumption spoken about here. Don’t know how one sorts it but needs someone other than the stealer to check static draw and the like. Almost seems like it’s not in Park. Mine literally sits for 8 days at a time and never looks like failing. I do get the low battery start engine warning but it always starts quite easily.

Looking at their website it proposes a MF95D31R - 810 CCA vs 850CCA for the OEM battery

Excellent price at sub $200 but not sure I'd go for a battery with a lower spec than the original...

suitable also for a poor old D3? TDV6.

I had similar issue with D4 MY13 original battery and short trips. The car wouldnt start on main battery and had to connect second one to start. I fixed it with 100watt solar panel on roof rack continually charging second battery and connection of main battery when it reached 12.8v to charge that too. Same routine of short trips doesnt show problems anymore. I guess it will need replacing soon.

If you have a Traxide system installed and the traxide aux battery is put on charge, does it also charge the main battery once the aux battery is charged up?

Look again - that is not the correct battery. You need something like a MF88H 900CCA Supercharge Battery - under $300 not under $200.

Hi Earthrover and first off.
:welcome:

The he use of a solar panel is by far the best way to charge and maintain batteries that are are left unused for long periods of time or are used continually for short drive situations.

You can use a 10w solar panel without a solar regulator, and it will not only maintain a number of batteries, it will actually charge them if they were in a low charge of state when the small solar panel was first connected.

While it would take some time for a 10w solar panel to charge a couple of low batteries, it would still active a fully charge state for a couple of batteries.

Hi Jeepster and if you have an earlier version of my isolator, the isolator will stay ON for a month or more, so as long as yo connected the charge source to the auxiliary battery while the isolator is on, both batteries will be charged.

If you have one of my newer SC80 or DT90 isolator, even if the isolator has turned OFF, once the auxiliary battery is near fully charged, the isolator will then automatically turn ON and charge the cranking battery.
