Also I have noticed on some o/s forums the Wrangler Duratrac AT Tyres getting a good write up as a 19 inch opiton. Why has no one mentioned them here on our AUS forum?

They don't appear to be in stock in Aus. Accept for here GOODYEAR WRANGLER DURATRAC 255/55R19 111Q NEW TYRE | Wheels, Tyres & Rims | Gumtree Australia Knox Area - Ferntree Gully | 1159116462 for $386. Reiterating why the OP should buy 18's.
Bridgestone D697s look like they're on special for $296 in 265 60 18. That's pretty much another buy 3 get one free deal.
    Bargain, must be a sign.

They have been discussed quite a bit here and plenty of feedback offered over the years when they were virtually the only 19” option. A search should turn up a few threads. Some people had good experiences but on balance they were found to be relatively weak.

Does anyone know if Toyota rims off a very recent model Landcruiser will work on a Disco 4 3.0 as a second set of off road tyres? 285/ 60 R16 OR are Tuff Ant rims they only ones that will work as an 18inch option

I have run Goodyear Wrangler Duratec for 3 trips to Central Australia and will be changing to 18" Tuffant and BFG for next trip.
Goodyear got cut to pieces in Great Victorian Desert and Nullarbor Desert whilst BFG on other vehicle were fine.
I ended up leaving them in Ceduna.

Needing to replace all including the spare and interested to know more about the maxxis 980 LT. As a true performance test any idea what kms you could expect out of a set of four on regular rotation (without rotating the spare) ?
At present I've got about 35,000 km out of my 19" MAXXIS 980 - never been rotated and most kms towing a 2.5.tonne van. They might be good for another 10k kms. The spare is still like new... The performance of them has been brilliant. Particularly on gravel roads where the gravel was like half bricks and just as sharp - enough to give the driver white knuckles. Fuel economy has been good too. Without the van, 110 kph highway driving between Melbourne and Seymour, managed to get 7.5 l/100km on two occasions.

I’ve got Maxxis on the front and Crapper LTZ on the rear. I expect to total one rear next trip as always so will kill one of them then switch to Maxxis on the rear.

Are we bagging the Crapper LTZ's because that's a title that has been bestowed on the brand or is it specific to the LTZ? :-)

I rate my 285/60/18s that I have on GOEs for the driving I have done. However, I've read that the 18" LTZ is a much tougher tyre than the 19".
