Sometimes he was interesting and sometimes he was a dick, like most of us. He certainly liked to think his point of view was the best. Not the first time he taken his bat and ball and buggered off.
I come to this site for information, for other people's experience and to share what I have learnt. I would like to post up more for my experiences and the lessons I've learnt but find I just don't have the time to document everything.
I think people like LRD414 are more valuable to the forum and Scott doesn't try to force opinions on others or put people down.

Mike is loud, opinionated and non PC. What's not to like? Where did Tombie go?Where did Tombie go?

Remembering too that if you were in a tight spot he'd give you the shirt off his back if that's what was needed.

    I miss him here...

Ah well, we come and go...as we keep reminding the kids, social media isn't the be all and end all of life. Keep a perspective, it is just a forum, like a tv it has an off switch. The birds are singing out there in the real world

I saw a bird today. It was a ruddy huge crow, about the size of a chook, glaring down at me from its perch on a gutter as I walked underneath. I sped up to get away from it.

It’s fantastic. I started the thread knowing it was controversial. I had many a disagreement with Tombie, the arrogant opinionated *****, haha, but in some way I respected it. I ignored it when it suited me, but I was at least comfortable I had an alternative viewpoint to consider.
In all I respected his opinion even if we weren’t aligned. In many cases neither of us had scientific evidence to support our arguments or positions and that’s ok, as I respected him making me consider another viewpoint.

I've seen the words disagreement and respect a lot in the last eight pages. I think that says a fair bit about this forum and why the vast majority of us are on here... and the man has to know he's made a significant mark given this discussion for one. 'Nuf said. My 2c.
