And you will see the line on the hose for how deep it was previously. I needed some needle nose pliers to get it to that level before nipping up the nut.
I also mistakenly transferred the new fitting that comes with the new strut to the airline and then fitting it into the strut before working out you can push it in. Both techniques work fine and maybe the former is easier because the depth is set when you fit the olive.
Yeah I think I'm going to cut the bend off and join a new piece of hose into the push fittings and see how that goes. Anyone know if the thread in the top of the air strut is the same as the original?

Clean up the end with some 2000 paper and try fitting the new olive on the hose before bringing the new strut up. You set the olive about 2-3mm from end of the hose. The fittings are all standard and identical.Quote:
