LOL! just about every road was flooded today around melb!

Had to dodge 4 stranded cars in about 1/2 meter of water under the Monash, on Magid dr Narre Warren .. with a 50ft semi!
Then on the way back to Lavo, two stranded commodores up to their door sills at a roundabout on Fitzgerald Rd.

I'm thinking Nemo would have come close to winning the cup today had someone thought of entering him.

Remember them old fashioned 4wd`s you just engaged cdl and H/L range and away ya went them were the days

The road where the two commodores got stuck wasn't flooded badly, I think I 'know' what happened to those two lads .. being 'LADS!'

I reckon they've seen too many new off roader ads on TV, seen an opportunity, inevitable result ensued in their sedans.

I reckon in the 30-60 seconds I had that section of road in view, maybe 10 or more cars drove through their side of the road ... but at a non idiotic, and less splashy pace.

The badly flooded road in narre warren tho, in any non diesel vehicle non 4WD-ish vehicle .. no way. I'd never have even thunk it!
Other those those 4 stranded cars, all normal cars U turned away.

Cops had that one under management, and I had to wait for one dual cab type 4WD to get through before I could wind my way through.
I reckon had the cops not been there tho, the dual cab driver would have tried harder to do the the idiot ad impression.

.. anyway .. was a fun day

I've done less 'off-road' in the FL2 than I'd wished, but did one time - near Lake George; came at a 'closed road' from the 'other end'. And I actually knew this bit of road didn't have any of those 'forget it, buddy!' dips; also noted 'no sideways flow', in fact the whole flooded road was still and clear, painted lines and grassy verges completely visible.
I may have just driven in - only 30cm depth at the crown of the road - but more likely I went through the following:
select mud-n-ruts, manual gear select for auto (1st); slow entry and then 'push' at probably no more than 20kph, remembering that manufacturer's wading depth is 50cm - and at about 60cm or more, the car starts to float - losing traction at the back first. And while the air-intake is 'high' under the bonnet, I had no snorkel.

All that done - it was typically boring; no dramas at all.

I just keep it simple and slow down.
