    Diagnosing rattles and dash removal?

    Hi all:

So, I'm the proud new owner of a 2016 Disco ... and it is wonderful. Easily the nicest car I've ever owned. Now that I've been driving it for a few weeks, I totally get why people love this car.

    BUT ...

I've got a dash rattle/tick ... it seems to be coming from the speaker area in the centre of the dash. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I might be able to do? I can't see any screws or the like to remove parts of the dash. I'd really like to get this sorted ... can anyone help, please?

    Cheers!

Welcome, with proper maintenance this will be the most enjoyable car you will ever own.

Seems strange to have a dash rattle, i've never had any, although i don't have a sub fitted beneath that speaker cover.

I have removed that speaker cover before to fit a Kuda Dash Mount though. The cover just lifts off, it's held in with clips, i'd remove this and check the screws holding down the sub are tight (may have vibrated loose) I think i needed a stubby phillips screwdriver, as a standard one hits the windscreen.

First and third pictures here are what you'll be looking at. http://www2.kudausa.com/manuals/290615.pdf

Wouldn't it still be under warranty and therefore a dealer should fix it?

    Diagnosing rattles and dash removal?

Had the rattle in the dash sorted under warranty in my 2013 D4.
It’s a known issue, and the dealership workshop obviously went through LR’s process of squirting lots of silicone spray around, which did SFA stop the rattle. Ultimately, they installed the requisite anti rattle kit supplied by LR, involved pulling out and reinstalling the entire dash with said kit. Took several days, and fortunately they supplied a courtesy Disco Sport. Problem solved, no issues since, touch wood.

I had the a rattle in my 2016 Disco. It was fixed under warranty but my dash never had to come out. I think they removed the speaker grille and did something in there. The rattle I had was mainly over bumps like in and out of a driveway for instance. Made a ticking sort of noise from memory.

I've also had the same rattle. Really annoying. Took it to dealer and all they did was spay silicon lube. Yep did SFA.
I didn't want the retards pulling out my dash so I've put up with it
