New 265/65 Tyre with no rubbing

I have just starting running the Hercules Terra Trac II AT2 LT265/65R18 122/119 Load Index tyre.

    Hercules Tires

So far only around town use but super quiet, good road holding and NO RUBBING at any height or full lock. Less than $300 each fitted and balanced.

Spare fitted underneath but did need to be deflated. On the website they list them as 801mm (31.54inch) and the speedo is now spot on with GPS speed checking at every speed test so far.

Keen to give them a test in a couple of weeks and give some feedback

They also list a 275 (32.09) and 285 (32.56) in 65 series for 18" wheels on the USA site, suitable for our D5 friends

    I'll check 'em out.

Costco quoted my $306 for 265/60 Dueler (Bridgsetone) tyres; and $362 for BFG Ko2 265/60/18 , and $364 for the BFG Ko2 265/65/18. The 65 seems much better value compared to the 60.

I have also thought that I could always put a smaller tyre under the Disco, with air in it. My 2014 Disco disco does not have a locking diff. With a locking rear diff, a different diameter tyre would be somewhat of a problem. But I cannot see a problem with the standard Disco's floating rear diff. I could put the punctured 265/65/18 onto the roof as well. Probably a less dirty job than crawling under the Disco. I have had a 6th tyre on the roof. I don't need anything else up there, but there's room for a 2nd tyre.

275/65r18 fits deflated no problems. Don’t need to remove heat shield. Don’t need to grind tow thingie (nitto ridge grapplers)

So if you want to put larger tyres on a D4 don't pick an obscure size, go with a common size even if it means it's not larger for remote travel.

I think this is a really good point often overlooked in the 'bigger is always better' mindset.

I was just talking to a tyre dealer and hes said 265/65/17 are much more common than 265/70/17, he only carries the 65's.

He also said the 65 are a common size from factory for many models, but the 70 are an aftermarket size, thus not as common.

Hi been a while since I've been on here. Bought a D4 SDV6 last year with 19"rims (Black Design) Currently has 255/55/19 and needing new tyres and looking at 255/65/19 AT's which are 32" as I want a decent sidewall without going down the road of buying 18" Tuffants etc. By my measurements the 255/65/19's will scrub the chassis protrusion in the rear on the front wheel arches.
Has anyone ever fitted this size on standard offset D4 19's?
    Thanks

You might consider the 31" 255/60R19 GG AT3 LI 113 which still fits in the spare wheel spot. I had them on my 4.4 TDV8 L322 on D4 rims and now have them on my D350 L405 on D5 19" rims that fit over the big front brakes, having found them more than acceptable on all surfaces. My usage is fast gravel and slow rocky climbs as well as country roads.

Supercheap have them but obscenely expensive. Also not made anymore in that size in an AT, or any AT for that matter in the Aussie market. They focus on currently used sizes.

They're certainly a current tyre but not imported by the usual GG importer. However Tempe Tyres import them although currently awaiting more stock.

    I'm looking at 18's now. 265/65/18 AT's (31.5") on Tuffants.

The risk with the 19" GGs is that AFAIK they are the only half-decent AT in 31".
