    Glow Plug Question.

On another forum (non LR) they have the glow plug warning light. So does my D4. Members were saying they should wait until light goes off and then start the car. However with our ignition we do not go through a sequence that allows our plugs to warm up (not that I have ever seen the lamp anyway) and then we start the car. On my very old Toyota diesel I had to turn ignition on and wait for the glow plug light to go out in the morning and then turn the motor over. How do we do this on a LR and if not why not?

Because it is capable of starting without and if it needed to delay for the plugs, it could do that. Pressing the button starts a sequence which could include a delay for plugs if required. As I understand it, the plugs aren’t needed until it’s below/around 0 deg C anyhow.

100% DJ. I've only seen the glow plug light come on once or twice, and that's after a night camping in the bush mid WA winter. The start sequence includes the glow plugs if required.
