Is it a sensor or a blank terminator for equipment not fitted?

SubscriberWhile looking around under the bonnet of my 2008 D3 I noticed some insulation damage on the cables leading to the sensor shown in the photo. It is located behind the left side headlight.

The outside temp sensor is in front of the radiator.

I must admit that just looks like a connector not a sensor to me but maybe it does go to a sensor.

SubscriberThanks, for the replies, the insulation on the cable is damaged. I will just tape it up.
I was not sure if it was a temperature sensor, but looked like a dumb spot as air flow would be minimal.
There are small plastic plus in it, so it could easily be a termination that I am not familiar with
Peter
Air temp sensor is mounted behind the bumper or if if a bull bar is fitted its moved to the rh chassis mount.
