You can pretty much bet that the fault is indicating that the reservoir pressure isn't increasing at an acceptable rate. The dryer's felt pad may be blocked with pulverised desiccant or the compressor may be weak due to a worn-out valve or piston.
The next stage of failure will be that the compressor will be unable to get the vehicle up to normal height, at which time the vehicle will be dropped to the bump-stops. If this occurs then restart the engine and as soon as the vehicle is high enough to drive, remove the 20A engine bay suspension fuse before the fault re-occurs so that the vehicle can't lower. The 5A passenger compartment suspension fuse which supplies an ignition sense to the suspension module can then be removed so as to prevent the repeated 50kph messages which can be annoying.
