Hi SJC
I have the Tuffants coming this week.
What size did you put on with the ATR+ ?

I was running Hercules 265/65 18" (all that was available) and found they were a little noisy, but wore well enough.
Then I switched to Hankook 265/65 18" Dyna pro. Not the full Monty All terrain, but a crossover 3/4 AT pattern.
They are very quiet on bitumen, and harder wearing than the Hercules. here they are $300 each, but in city $220-230.
I've used Yokahama Geolanders on wife's D1, they were very quiet also, and have a harder treadwear rating than Hankook.
Next time I am near a city I will be looking for them to switch to, as occasionally dealers special them at Hankook prices (or close).
I've found running 265/65 no problem and slightly less revs cruising, and met another driver running 70 profile, and reporting occasional scrubbing in extreme turning, but otherwise nil issues.

I also find our Hankooks ATs very quiet.
anyone running a 265/65/18 and fitting snow chains?
I live remote, so tyres come dearer than they should (perhaps)
Had to buy 1 hankook 265/65x18 to replace damaged tyre. Local tyrpower was $295.
Just bought 4 online ($205 ea) delivered free to Alice, and fitted $932 for 4. including disposal.
Even at $35 a tyre to fit and balance, it looks like Hankooks are very cheap at present.
Geolanders also looked cheap.
thats a massive amount of chain to fit to a wheel....how heavy is a set? have you done it yourself?
do you fit the chains on the wheels at the side of the road or carry spare wheels prefitted?
I have fitted chains before on 13" wheels and it was such a pain in the arse that I decided I'd never do it again.
update
I finally bought the Pirelli all terrain plus (265/60/18) today, haven’t been over 80km he but so far I haven’t heard them at all.
Tread at looks good and grippy but road was dry.
will be on the freeway tomorrow and off-road over the weekend so I will post a further update after that. So far I’m very happy over the KO2’s!!

From the Pirelli site, that tyre in 265/60/18 has a low load rating,110.
I don't know about the legalities, but it may be the absolute minimum allowed on a D4?
